Welcome to Danebury Class

We have an exciting year of learning to achieve.

This is our first year in Key Stage 2 so there are lots of exciting changes to our school day. Children need to bring their own lunch and healthy morning snack (fruit or vegetables).

We start back in the Palaeolithic (Old Stone Age), learning all about the first humans in our country and what life was like. We move through history into the Neolithic and Bronze Ages supported by a trip to Stonehenge. Then we travel through the Bronze Age and into the more challenging Iron Age. Our next topic explores our own planet by using our geography skills to learn about the continents and countries. We continue this theme through learning about changes to our planet from volcanoes and earthquakes. In the summer, we will learn about National Parks with  trip to the New Forest before finishing our year (hopefully in some sunshine) by learning about the achievements of the Ancient Greeks with particular focus on those we still see today.

In the Spring term, we present our Year 3 production, Whiz Wham Alakazam.

Alongside all this topic work, the children will continue to develop their English and Mathematic skills. We appreciate your support to practise their spellings and times tables through their homelearning activities.

Mrs Garner and I are looking forward to a fantastic year in Year 3 with lots of exciting topics and learning to achieve. If you have any questions, please use the Home School Contact Book to get in touch with me.
