Due to COVID19, the school is only open to children of key workers, Year R, Year 1 and Year 6 - Call us on 01980 623009 or email office@amesbury.wilts.sch.uk for any advice during this time.

The teaching of music is based upon the fact that it is a creative and social art to be enjoyed. Children have the opportunity to enjoy musical experiences through listening, singing, movement and dance and by playing tuned and un-tuned percussion.

We buy into a music scheme called ‘Music Express’, to teach music and give pupils the best opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of the curriculum.

Throughout the school, pupils will have opportunities to learn to play instruments. Pupils are offered tuition in woodwind, brass and string instruments by professional music teachers.

The children at Amesbury Primary school, also have many exciting opportunities to show off their singing talents through weekly singing practice as a school, as well as their year group productions. As a school, we are also developing a choir, who since September have performed around the local community. We are now preparing to hopefully perform at the London 02 Arena as part of Young Voices next year.

Please see your child’s class page to find out what they will be learning in music each term.
