Welcome to Stourhead Class

Term 4 has been full of fantastic learning which has all been linked to our On Safari topic– including our amazing trip to Marwell Zoo!

In English we have written information texts about animals that we might see on safari, designed and created leaflets about Marwell Zoo and written riddles about African animals.  Mathematics has been busy this term and has focused on multiplication and division, fractions, time and money.  In PE we have created African dances, completed circuit training and practised our throwing and catching skills.  We have linked PE to science and have been thinking about what we need to stay healthy including healthy eating and exercise.  Art has been extremely creative during term 4 as we have designed and made African masks that will be brought home at the end of this term.  Our RE focus has been all about the Old Testament story of Jonah and the whale. Stourhead have also enjoyed our BLP (Building Learning Power) theme for this term which was all about improving our resourcefulness.

The children in Stourhead Class have worked hard to improve their attitude to learning and to further develop their independent learning skills. We have also been working on how we can work together to create a rich positive environment for learning within our class.  Well done Stourhead!

PE lessons are on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Please make sure your child always has a full PE kit in school, including the appropriate footwear.

Due to the frequent issues regarding lost water bottles, jumpers and other clothing please ensure that your child’s name is on all of their belongings as this means that the items should find their way back to the correct person!

Please ensure that your child has a bottle of water in school so that they can stay hydrated, our school offers a healthy fruit snack for morning break time.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning and want to find out more ways you can support them with their learning, then please do not hesitate to contact us via your child’s home school record book, via our office or in person.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Jenkins
